Brenna is currently pursuing a PhD in the Rehabilitation Counseling Educator program at Michigan State University where she also received her Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, after completing a BA in Sociology at Portland State University. Brenna is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor as well as a Licensed Professional Counselor.

Brenna has specialized clinical experience in working with people with disabilities, as well as the incarcerated and formerly incarcerated community. In addition, Brenna works at Cognitive Consultants as co-occurring clinician providing services to those with substance use concerns in conjunction with Eaton, Ionia, and Ingham county courts. Brenna has been involved in the Lansing area re-entry community for several years and is currently working on research involving the lived experience of mandated counseling.

Brenna provides individual psychotherapy to clients experiencing mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, identity and adjustment; and provides vocational counseling for individuals with and without disability. Brenna primarily utilizes Cognitive Behavioral, Compassion Focused, Solution Focused and Narrative Therapy modalities with an emphasis on intersectional and social justice frameworks.
